    Hiring

    • What areas do you cover?

    We cover Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and South London.

    • How can I get a quote?

    Please either just give us a call on 01273 494939 for a verbal quote, or you can visit our website and complete the Hire Form on any of the pages, submit it to us and we will then email you your quote (this may not be on the same working day if we are very busy).

    • Do I need an Account?

    No, You don’t need an account to hire machinery.  But you will need to give us credit or debit card details as security against the hire. Also see “How Can I Pay below” for pre-authorisation information.

    • What ID/documentation do I need for hire?

    Please bring a valid form of ID (eg driving licence or passport) and proof of address (eg utility bill, council tax).  The proof of address must match the address to whch we are sending the invoice.

    • Do I need insurance/damage cover?

    Damage waiver can be provided through us with Zurich Insurance administered by HAE (Hire Association Europe) for an additional charge.  Please ask for details.

    • Is there a minimum hire period?

    Hire is for a minimum of one day (subject to machine and distance).  If you wish to hire for more than one day, we offer a range of short or long-term hires. Please just give us a call to enquire.

    • Can machinery be collected?

    Yes, you can collect from us. Please ensure that you bring a suitable vehicle and a trailer where required. If needed, trailers are also available for hire from us. Collection can be made any time from 8am to 4:30pm.  

    • Can machinery be delivered to site?

    Yes, we deliver in Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and South London.

    • How much does it cost to deliver?

    Delivery is based on a variety of factors, so we do not have a fixed delivery price. Prices can be provided on request.

    • How can I pay?

    All hires are pre-authorised on your card in advance regardless of whether you are having them delivered or you are collecting yourself. We will ask you for card details when you book.

    Please note that with pre-authorisation, whilst an amount may show as a pending transaction this does not leave your account. At the end of the hire your final total is calculated and will be deducted from your card.

    • Do you offer long term/season hire?

    Yes we do, please contact us for details.

     

    Using the Machine

    • Does machinery come with fuel?

    All diesel machinery will come with a full tank, and larger petrol machines will also be provided with a full tank. At the end of the hire period you will be charged for what you have used.

    Small petrol machines are provided with sufficient fuel to get you started but will need topping up.  At the end of your hire you can either refill as needed, or we can charge you for the fuel used to refill it.

    • Do you give me instructions?

    When collecting, or when we deliver to site, we will give you a demonstration of how to use the machine. Instruction manuals, where available from the manufacturer, can be found on our website. Alternatively, if you are unsure about anything please just give us a call.

    • What should I do if I can’t get something to work?

    Check the instruction manual first if there is one available on our website, and if you remain unsure please just give us a call and we will talk you through it.

    • What should I do if a fault occurs on my hire machine?

    Please notify us immediately of any faults by calling 01273 494939.

    • What should I do if I damage a machine?

    Stop the machine immediately and give us a call on 01273 494939.

    • How do I off-hire a machine?

    Please call us or email us (hire@acaciarental.com) when you have finished using the machine to off-hire it. ALL machinery needs to be off hired. We will not come to collect machinery until you have notified us.

    • Can I get a colleague to come and collect/take delivery?

    We always recommend that the person using the machine should be the one to collect or take delivery of the machine, so that they know how to use it courtesy of a demonstration by our staff member.

     

    General

    • What machines can you service/repair?

    We can repair groundcare machinery up to 50hp from from all major brands including, Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Ransomes, Predator, Kubota, Etesia and Mountfield to name a few.

    • Opening hours and collection times

    We are open from 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday for summer hours, and 8am to 5pm over winter. We are closed Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays throughout the year.

    Collection/return times for hire machinery are between 8am – 4.30pm.

    • Do you sell ex-hire machinery?

    Yes, we often sell machinery that we hire out.  Please contact us for more information or visit our Used Equipment for Sale page.
